What kind of fuel are we using?

I looked at my gas guage and discovered I was low on gas. Since I was at home and since I was low on money, I decided to fill my tank with water. Pretty economical, huh? I also discovered another way to save money. The grand kids came out while I was filling my tank and told me they were hungry. Again, low on money, I got a bowl filled with rocks and filled it with water. I proceeded to boil it on the stove and make soup. I am so smart I cannot help it sometimes.

Now before you go off on me and call me a crackpot, I did not actually do those things. In fact, as we all know, that would destroy the engine in the car and the grandkids, well, does the word mutiny spring to mind. As silly as those things sound, that is exactly what a lot of people do everyday with their soul. Instead of filling our heart with the truth of the Word of God, we water down our walk with God and replace the spiritual manna we so desperately need with that which will not satisfy.

Isaiah 55:2 speaks with the question, why do we spend our money on that which does the soul no good. If there is a moral problem in the church today, maybe we should just check the menu.
